CAL Monthly Happenings


Men's and Ladies Pinochle groups play together and play separately at 1 pm on the first and third Mondays of each month and are looking to expand to a weekly schedule in April! We are open to adding days to the schedule.

FREE Blood Pressure Checks provided from 11-1 pm on the first Tuesday of each month, at the Center for Active Living, courtesy of Sterling Drug. Public Welcome!

NEW Stretch n Tone Class meets at 11 am on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with Anita Leach. Classes meet on March 5, 7, 12, 14, 26, & 28. 

Dominoes group generally meets at 1:00 pm on alternating Tuesdays and Fridays

Caregivers Support Group meets at 5:00 pm on the second Wednesday of each month. Evidence-based program from ACE of Southwest Minnesota. Facilitated by Joanne Bartosh. Call 507-295-5262 to sign up!

RSVP project group meets at 1:30 pm Wednesdays. Join us to work on various projects for charitable organizations.

Hatha Yoga - 5:15 pm most Wednesdays! New 8 week session beginning soon!

Social Bridge meets at 1:00 pm, Friday, March 8 and March 21. We are looking to build a walk-in bridge group. Meeting days and times can be adjusted by those who attend! Please join us if you would like to play a casual game of bridge! Public is welcome to give us a try!

Pot Luck Soup Swap will take place on Wednesday, March 13 at 11:30 am. Call 376-6457 and sign up to bring a crock pot full of your favorite soup. We’ll eat together (optional), then we’ll swap our soup bowl for bowl with other soup swappers!

Scrabble, just for fun! Meets at 10:30 am on March 19. Give us your availability and we will help coordinate a day/time that works for everyone.

Mitten-making class meets at 6 pm on Tuesday, March 19.Class led by artist, Kelly Henkels, Center for Active Living. Create your own mixed media valentine with red button design over acrylic-striped canvas. Adults of all ages welcome. Open to the public. Call 376-6457 for information and sign up by the Friday before the class begins.

We are always looking to expand the programs offered to include health education and screenings, social activities to combat loneliness and promote social involvement, provide and expand fitness programs, promote mental alertness and maintain mental health, active aging awareness, special events and day trips, and offer more volunteer opportunities within the community.
