CAL Announcements

The Center for Active Living (CAL) will be closed to the public until Fri., May 1, 2020. At present, the LSS Meals on Wheels program has plans to continue with their weekday meal deliveries.

The CAL was closed in accordance with general strategies recommended by the CDC to help slow the spread of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). 

Health Insurance Counseling available on the second Monday of each month from 10 am - noon. Meet with trained staff for one on one help with your Medicare questions. To reserve a meeting time call Senior Linkage Line at 800-333-2433 by Friday the week prior.

Scrabble will be played at 10 am on the 1st and 3rd Monday at the Center for Active Living. Call to sign up. Newcomers welcome!

Refresh your knowledge of Pinochle the last Monday of each month at 1 pm at the Center for Active Living. Call 376-6457 to sign up. Newcomers welcome! Instruction provided by players. Newcomers welcome.

Play Pinochle with Ladies, Men and mixed groups at 1 pm. on Mondays at the Center for Active Living.

Caregivers Support Group meets at 5:00 pm on the second Monday of each month. Evidence-based program from ACE of Southwest Minnesota. Facilitated by Joanne Bartosh. Call 507-295-5262 to sign up!

ACE Crafters group meets at 1:30 pm Wednesdays. Join us to work on various projects for charitable organizations. Please call ahead.

Hatha Yoga - 5:15 pm Wednesdays throughout the year (exception: class meets on Thursdays during lent). Call for cost, dates and sign up information. Typically offered in 7 or 8 week sessions.

Social Bridge meets on the first and third Mondays of each month at 9 am. If you would like to play a casual game of bridge every now and then, or every week...please join us for this fun, walk-in bridge group! Newcomers are welcome to give us a try!

We are always looking to expand the programs offered to include health education and screenings, social activities to combat loneliness and promote social involvement, provide and expand fitness programs, promote mental alertness and maintain mental health, active aging awareness, special events and day trips, and offer more volunteer opportunities within the community.
