What's Going on at the CAL?

Check out the fun things happening in JANUARY!! Events and speakers are open to the public. (Dates and specific sign up information below. You do not need to be a member to try these events out!)

Line Dancing with Pat Brant! Learn to line dance, step-by-step!  Leather-soled shoes are recommended! Next meeting: 10:00 a.m. on Thurs., Jan. 11th. Call 507-376-6457 to let us know if you think you can come! All are Welcome. Note:This group would like to meet weekly, but is just getting started, so be sure to call ahead.

ISD 518 Bond Referendum: Informational lunch - Call to sign up for this sponsored $2 Meal Deal on Tues., January 16th at 11:30. There will be a short presentation and a representative of Support our Schools will answer questions. Call 376-9718 to reserve your spot by Fri. Jan. 12, 2018 .Cost: $2. Menu: BBQ Pork Chops, sweet potatoes, winter blend vegetables, bread and scalloped apples. 

Sign up for our Tablet class! You will be walked through basic tablet setup and use. Meets for three sessions: January 17, 24 & 31. Cost: $21. Pre-registration required by calling 376-6457. All ages are welcome.

Learn about your iPad! This class covers basic iPad setup and use. Meets for three sessions: January 18, 25 & Feb 8th. Cost: $21. Pre-registration required by calling 376-6457. All ages are welcome.

The 2018 Valentine Factory is coming! Robyn Moser is bringing a festive and fun valentine-making event to the CAL!. Everyone is invited to make valentines that will be delivered to Senior Living Communities and Skilled Nursing Facilities in Worthington. Valentine-making begins at 10:00 am,Thurs. January 18, and will be available through Fri., Jan. 19th at the CAL. 

Papermaking with Margaret Vosburgh will take place at 11 am on Thursday, January 25th! Call for information about this fun and creative craft! Call 376-6457 to sign up!

Try Racquetball during the month of January and enter a drawing to win free guest passes or extend a 6 month membership! You do not have to be 55 for a racquetball-only membership. Racquetball memberships provide 24/7 access!  Individual, family, or student memberships available. Rackets and court times available from 8 am-3 pm M-F.

Jewelry Make-n-Take - Susan Middagh will provide designs/instruction for creating jewelry from glass or stone beads. Cost: $10 per necklace or bracelet; $5 for earrings. Classes: Monday afternoons at 12:30 pm. Pre-registration required. Call 507-376-6457 to sign up.

Ancestry Research Talk at the Center for Active Living - Learn about AncestryLibrary.com* from the staff of the Nobles County Library. Unlock family history with sources like censuses, vital records, immigration records and many more. Thursday, February 1 at 1:30 pm Cost is free. All are Welcome. Note: AncestryLibrary.com is available for free at the library. 

Join the NEW Center for Active Living Genealogy research group or just come to learn! 

Make-n-Take Valentine Workshop! Kathy Myer will design/die cut card-making materials, so you can make your own Valentines! Cost: $.75 per card (make as many as you would like). Thursday, Feb. 1st, 9 am -12:30.  You must call to reserve your spot - 376-6457.
