Nov 14 Presentation: What’s New with Medicare? Begins at 9 am at the Center for Active Living. Presented by Gail Radke, Senior Linkage Line of Minnesota. Description: Staying on top of the latest changes in the Medicare program can be difficult. Medicare beneficiaries and their family members will learn about changes in Medicare for the coming year and how it could affect their benefits. An overview of the Medicare program, benefits and plan options for 2019 will be provided. Call 376-6457 to reserve a seat. Walk-ins welcome.

Nov 14 - Samba will be played at 1:00 pm. Come learn how to play this fun game with 6 decks of cards! Public Welcome to give it a try!

Nov 15 – Join Senior Dining at the CAL for a Turkey Dinner at 11:30 am! Suggested Donation: Age 60+ $4.25-$7.50; Under 60 yrs: $7.50. Important - call 376-9718 to reserve your spot by Monday Nov. 12th for this delicious lunch!

Nov 15 - Drawing Workshop at 6:00 pm at the Center for Active Living with Artist/Instructor Kelly Henkels. Use the grid technique to create a drawing, from a black and white photograph of your own choosing. Call 376-6457 for information and signup.

Matter of Balance will meet on Tuesday mornings at the Center for Active Living through Dec 4th. This evidence-based class was designed to reduce the fear of falling and increase activity levels in older adults, is being led by two trained coaches Facilitated by Joanne Bartosh, ACE of Southwest Minnesota. Hatha Yoga Fall Session II - 5:15 pm Wednesdays through December 19. Call 376-6457 for sign up and info on Winter I ( Jan.2 – Feb 20).

Line Dancing – Begins after Pickleball most Thursdays (begins about 10:15 am) with Pat Brandt! Learn new line dances, and review dances you are unsure of. We are still preparing to go out dancing somewhere! Public welcome to give it a try!

Interested in playing an occasional game of Scrabble? Give us your availability and we will help coordinate a day/time.This may be the start of something fun!

*Meeting regularly* New Dominoes group meets the 1st & 3rd Tuesday and the 2nd & 4th Friday of each month.

*Still growing* :) Let's play a Social Bridge at the CAL! Meets the 2nd Friday at 1 pm, and the Third Monday at 9 am!

*Now meeting regularly* Men's and Ladies Pinochle groups play together and play separately on the 1st & 3rd Mondays! We are open to adding days to the schedule.

Handmade Paper-making Workshop - We are planning to meet the first week in December. We will meet on two days to make paper from pulp, dried flowers, glitter or anything else that you can think to add! Instructor/Artist: Margaret Hurlbut Vosburgh; Call 376-6457 to express interest. We will pick dates based on participant availability.

We are always looking to expand the programs offered to include health education and screenings, social activities to combat loneliness and promote social involvement, provide and expand fitness programs, promote mental alertness and maintain mental health, active aging awareness, special events and day trips, and offer more volunteer opportunities within the community.
