CAL Monthly Happenings


This month's Travel Talk is scheduled for 7 pm, Tuesday, May 28th. Bruce and Bev Kness will give a presentation on their recent 14-month trip with America's Great Loop Cruisers Association. The Kness' traveled over 7,000 miles on their 39-foot boat and visited three countries: Eastern US, Canada and the Bahamas.

NEW Stretch n Tone Class meets at 11 am on Thursdays, with Anita Leach. Classes meet on April 22, 25 & 30. Free during April. Taking registrations for 8 week session that will meet: Thursdays, May 9,16, 23, 30, 6, 13, 20 & 27 8 sessions for $40. Call 376-6457.

Dominoes group generally meets at 1:00 pm on alternating Tuesdays and Fridays. Hint: They always play dominoes on the first Tuesday of the month. We fill in the rest of the month around that.

Caregivers Support Group meets at 5:00 pm on the second Wednesday of each month. Evidence-based program from ACE of Southwest Minnesota. Facilitated by Joanne Bartosh. Call 507-295-5262 to sign up!

ACE Crafters group meets at 1:30 pm Wednesdays. Join us to work on various projects for charitable organizations.

Social Bridge meets at 1:00 pm on Fridays and the third Monday at 9 am! We are building a fun, walk-in bridge group! Please join us if you would like to play a casual game of bridge! Public is welcome to give us a try!

Scrabble, just for fun! Meets at 10:30 am on on Wednesday, May 1. Give us your availability and we will help coordinate a day/time that works for everyone!

Watercolor and Drawing classes coming in the summer months! Class led by artist, Kelly Henkels, Center for Active Living. Kelly will take you through the steps to create beautiful art! Adults of all ages welcome. Open to the public. Call 376-6457 for information and sign up.

Card Games- Watch for dates! We will Play card games of your choice on several different afternoons the CAL. Find a game that players have in common or that can be taught in one session. Call 376-6457 to sign up. Newcomers welcome.


We would love to hear from you! We are always looking to expand the programs offered to include health education and screenings, social activities to combat loneliness and promote social involvement, provide and expand fitness programs, promote mental alertness and maintain mental health, active aging awareness, special events and day trips, and offer more volunteer opportunities within the community.
